Scheduled
City Network would like to inform you that we have planned maintenance as scheduled below.

Customer Intervention MAY BE required.

Region/datacenter: OpenStack region TKY1 (Tokyo, Japan)

Maintenance window starts: 2022-01-10 08.00 CET
Maintenance window ends: 2022-01-14 17.00 CET

Maintenance Scope:
Throughout the maintenance window, a number of improvements will be implemented - from functionality to security alignment.
The major part of the scope is an OpenStack upgrade from Victoria to Xena, which will offer certain new functions but also address a list of known bugs. Some functions will improve seen to maturity level.
There will, in parallel, be work security wise to further increase protection and to address vulnerabilities. Furthermore there will be improvements to operations automation and those improvement will allow a high flexibility for us to operate the cloud more seamless,
pinpointing time frames that could potentially involve a slightly higher risk of minor disruption.

Please note that there may be a shorter time frame between 13 and 14 of January, involving a brief disruption of running services Our ambition is to carry out the majority of the maintenance window with little to no impact on running services, All infrastructure services will be restarted in a controlled and timely manner, in order for proper security patching.

Expected customer impact:

- During OpenStack services upgrade Public endpoints will be disabled, and thus unreachable, in order to prevent activity that might lead to inconsistencies during upgrade. Public API endpoints will be unavailable for end-users on 11th of January from 8-00 CET to 17-00 CET.
- This maintenance will minimize the impact on customers virtual machines and cloud resources reachability while upgrading the network nodes. Nevertheless you might experience reachability issues that may last up to 5 minutes while connecting through L3 routers. We've planned network stack upgrade on 12th of January from 17-00 to 18-00 CET, so connection issues may occur during this timeframe.
- After Maintenance Window will be finished, you will need to perform reboot of VMs when convenient to restore VNC console functionality. Alternatively you may reach us to live-migrate VMs between computes, that will also restore VNC. This step is required to fully switch to encryption of all VNC traffic.
